Planarian Party is an educational program aimed at middle and high school students that demonstrates the effects of commonly abused drugs (e.g. alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, sugar) through experiments involving acquatic flatworms called planarians.

The novelty of Planarian Party is that it is the first educational program that uses living animals to teach middle and high school students about the science of drug addiction and hazards of using addictive substances, making it entirely different from past programs such as DARE and Life Skills.

Planarian Party is supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and Office of Director (OD) within the National Institutes of Health
